Guess that was a bit too harsh, BUT IT IS THE TRUTH. I can't look at any of this political shit without going nuts. I would have had to unfollow all friends to escape. In a way, I will miss FB, especially the travel interaction, military info and old friends and family.
All the Capitol Police should have been fired for not protecting our government. Would they have shot a band of African Americans or Mid easterners? You bet you ass they would.

RETURNING HOME FROM WAR
For the last four years and change, I have been at war. Not with bombs and bullets like the wars I was in when I was in the military, but a war non-the-less. My was was against the fascist regime of Donald J Trump, his enablers and followers. Most I didn't know and some were friends and family. I knew from the start Trump was going to be bad for our nation. In my travels I had met some business people whom Trump had stiffed. I knew he was a grifter and a con man, lacking any empathy or decency. He didn't prove me wrong.
After the election in 2016 I started chronicling news events and stories on more than a half dozen websites I created. I created these for my own lethargy, hoping the overwhelming negative information might be of use to others. I had thousands of "internet hits," and hundreds of likes on the social media sites. If I was able to gain even one vote against the "tangerine stalin," as I unaffectionately called him, I would be satisfied.
For four years plus, I would wake and prior to turning on the "news" on TV, I would muse, I wonder what he is going to do to us today? I would hope he had died in his sleep or choked on a Big Mac.
I though his reign of terror would come to an end on November 4th or 5th, but it was not to be. The anxiety, paranoia and hate I had pent up for him was not to be released with a mere election. Trump pursued dozens of election court challenges, arm twisted election officials and threatened martial law. But most egregious of all was his overlapping layers of lies and fabrications about the election process he broadcast to his followers. Then came the assault on the Capitol Building on the 6th of January, egged on by Trump and several elected officials. I read when these lawless nitwits defecated and urinated inside the building.
After four years of this I knew then I would gladly shoot anyone of these people without a second thought. Was I at war? You bet I was. I wished I was there with the Capitol Police and then the National Guard to defend against the mob of brainwashed individuals.
I constantly played my military oath of enlistment over and over in my mind: "Protect the Constitution from ALL enemies foreign and DOMESTIC." To me, Trump clearly fit the definition of a domestic enemy.
So now, if by magic, I am supposed to release the hate, anxiety and fear created by four years of a war I didn't start. I have taken down my anti-Trump websites; unfollowed the anti trump social media sites and have stopped DVR'ing the MNM TV channels which were less than flattering of Trump. Don't laugh, but I think I might have the symptoms of PTSD:

All government buildings were heavily defended in advance of the Black Lives Matter March in June 2019.
